Państwo Snu

Państwo Snu is a drama adapted and directed by Michał Kmiecik, based on Alfred Kubin’s novel The Other Side. The play can be seen on the Main Stage of the Wrocławski Teatr Współczesny im. Marii i Edmunda Wiercińskich in Wrocław. Its protagonist, a draftsman, receives an invitation to a mysterious land at the foot of the Himalayas, where people who do not fit into the modern world are to make their dreams come true. Alfred Kubin was an artist and writer regarded as a precursor of Surrealism. The Other Side is his only novel, and its stage adaptation raises the question of life in a world where progress does not dictate the limits of everyday life. The cast includes Mariusz Bąkowski, Zina Kerste, Anna Kulińska-Kieca and Maciej Kowalczyk. The play may interest audiences drawn to drama and literature about fantastical, unsettling worlds. Tickets are available through KupBilecik.
