I like Chopin - chamber concert by candlelight

The chamber classical music concert “I like Chopin - kameralny koncert przy świecach” at I like Chopin in Gdańsk introduces the works of Fryderyk Chopin and selected pieces by other composers. The performances are accompanied by stories about the artist’s life, the historical background of the compositions and his inspirations. The announced programme includes mazurkas, études, Polonaise in A-flat major, Nocturne Op. 9 No. 2 and Sonata No. 2, as well as works by Schumann, Beethoven, Grieg, Debussy, Mozart and Rachmaninoff.

Fryderyk Chopin was a Polish composer and pianist whose music holds an important place in the piano repertoire. His works reflect the influence of Polish folk music, particularly in his mazurkas and polonaises. During his Paris period, his compositions took on a more dramatic and profound character.
