Dakhabrakha

A concert by the Ukrainian quartet DakhaBrakha, part of a European tour dedicated to the album Ptakh, will take place at Klub Kwadrat in Kraków. The band combines folk music with sounds from around the world and describes its style as “ethno-chaos”. DakhaBrakha was formed in Kyiv at the experimental Dakh Theatre. The musicians draw on Ukrainian folk songs, blending them with pop, punk, electronic music, hip-hop and soul, among other styles. The album Ptakh, whose title means “bird” in Ukrainian, refers to resistance, perseverance and freedom. The group’s performances combine music with theatrical elements and striking stage design. The concert may appeal to listeners interested in world music and folk traditions in modern arrangements. Tickets are available through Ticketmaster.
