How to choose an event

Note the route difficulty and the skills required - paddling trips range from easy family routes to more demanding ones for the experienced. Check what is included: gear, a life jacket and transport are often part of the price, and a trip usually costs 60-120 PLN per person. Weather and time of day matter, and for cruises the number of places on board.

Tickets and dates

Water events are largely seasonal and cluster from late spring to early autumn. Places on trips and cruises are limited, so it is worth booking popular dates online a few days ahead. For a paddling trip, bring a change of clothes, sunscreen and a waterproof pouch for your phone.

Popular cities

Most waterside events are found in Pomerania and the Tricity, in Masuria, and around Wroclaw, Krakow and Poznan, where rivers and lakes suit trips and cruises. In summer the beaches on the Baltic coast come alive too.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need my own gear?
Usually not - organisers provide kayaks, life jackets or boards in the price. Check the description for exactly what is included.

Do I need to be able to swim?
For paddling and SUP, basic swimming is strongly recommended and a life jacket is mandatory. For children, ask the organiser about the minimum age.

What if it rains?
Light rain rarely cancels a trip, but storms and strong wind do. Ask the organiser how rescheduling works.
